...The Palace of the Golden Triangle
Right next to Les Champs Elysées, in the Grand Palais' most noble section, the MiniPalais rises majestically onto Winston Churchill Avenue. Its imperial columns making it distinguishable at first sight.
The Alexander III Bridge offers us its best sight, few yards away the Seine River runs peacefully.
We are in the heart of the Golden Triangle.
In this artistic parisian landmark, the Grand Palais and the Petit Palais already existed to give life to yesterday's and today's art. The Minipalais was only missing to complete this magnificent decorum and propose a more ephemeral art that yet did not exist in this beautiful set : gastronomy…
These three locations recreate a very unique Golden Triangle, honoring the Parisian way of life.
...The Artists' Palace
The Minipalais entrance...
Just a few steps lead to a massive bronze door, worked with an unequalled thoroughness by the masters in the discipline. We admire this entrance, sumptuous, almost impressive, which plunges us immediately in the spirit of the place.
Passed that door, the Alexander III rotunda appears as if in a dream. There again, we admire the precision, the details of this breathtaking architectural piece, which has been totally renovated to allow the view on its metallic structures, its mosaics and other bronze doors imagined by Alain-Charles Perrot, historical monuments lead architect, just as majestic as from one to another.
We are standing in one of the most beautiful location in Paris. Here, all was created down to the smallest details in order to make the MiniPalais the palace of art, elegance and authenticity.
The dining room...
Architects Gilles & Boissier were inspired by this rare architecture to conceive a setting in the spirit of the place. It is how they created the MiniPalais as an artist workplace, a place that naturally lives by its volumes and materials, a place always in movement, always in turmoil.
The wood, on the floor and other surfaces, and the cloth, on the walls, dominate this authentic and refined set. They are completed by elegant touches of black marble. Large mirrors placed here and there give the space a sense of infinity.
From the majestic ceiling, of which metallic structures were totally renovated and painted the famous réséda green of the Grand Palais, fall huge workshop lights that change colors according to desires and ambiances.
On few shelves placed on the wall, plaster statues look at us and send us straight to this place, more artistic than ever.
From the dining room, we discretely glimpse through few vertical windows at the Nave of the Grand Palais, in all its immensity and splendor.
To complete it all, a huge patchwork of 4 meters by 12, created by Gilles Cenazandotti, dominates the dining room.
The wooden and leather furniture was created in a refined spirit. The different colors of the wood are completed by patterns here and there on the back of the chairs, original colored touches showing through.
This 400 m² place has an intimate side, warm and authentic where one feels good. A place where one wants to stay, and come back because one is comfortably installed, in a sober setting, chic and uncluttered.
The Terrace...
The terrace of the MiniPalais is timeless. We are in the heart of the capital but we feel as if we were so far away...
This 300 m² peristyle impresses and fascinates us. Imperial columns edge the terrace on all its length, allowing us to glimpse, on the other side of Winston Churchill Avenue, at the Petit Palais. On the walls and floors, we admire a fully restored mosaic, to give back its traditional character.
Few palm trees laid-out complete this rare decorum in Paris.
By warm weather, while sunlight discretely appears, to eat or have a drink in this enchanting setting is a dream coming true.
...The gourmet Palace
In this truly amazing place, a high quality cuisine was of course expected. It is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that
Eric Frechon, three-star Chef, took the challenge
He created a cuisine that resembles him, a cuisine based on the product, which he loves to sublimate as always, a genuine, generous and friendly cuisine. It is also a cuisine without any superfluous or any flourishes, which corresponds to this place, with all its elegance and sobriety.
Thus, the menu evolves through the seasons to offer consistently top quality products, all selected with thoroughness and precaution.
Eric Frechon requested the help of some masters of the discipline, selecting the best artisans : Jean-Yves Bordier for his unequalled butter, Philippe Camdeborde for his traditional homemade delicatessen, Frédéric Lalos for his exceptional bread, Claude Raffin from Saint-Gilles Croix-de-Vie for his fish, his fresh whitings...
Worrying about preserving the environment,
Eric Frechon has wished to commit to Mr Good Fish in order to offer guaranteed non-endangered fish.
To best go with his delicious dishes,
Eric Frechon created a beautiful wine menu, composed of prestigious labels, without forgetting wines from young wine growers, who work in particular in a bio-dynamic way.
Eric Frechon deeply thought of the cuisine spirit he wished to give the MiniPalais. As he likes to say "it is the simplest of the best" that treats us the best and that's what he wanted to do here : a simple, authentic cuisine with goods products, without any flourishes.
Some " signature " dishes from Eric Frechon for Le MINIPALAIS :
- Slightly smoked Corrèze ceps batter puding
- Pil-Pil squids
- Snails in their cherry tomatoe browned with almond butter
- Yellow wine cheese crusted sweetbread
- Duck fillet and foie gras burger, with truffle sauce
- Pearly cod, coriander and citronella perfumed stock
- Tandoori pork pluma, candied onion, pommes paille
- Giant rum baba, light vanilla cream
- Chouquettes and expresso ice cream, hot chocolate fudge
...The Palace of all times
The MiniPalais is a bubbling place living through the day. That is why
Eric Frechon wished to propose, in addition to the traditional lunch and dinner menus, a snack menu, to munch on and enjoy any time of the day : small sardines and algae butter, delicatessen plancha, lobster club sandwhich…snack food that one wants to taste in simplicity !
And for those who have a sweet tooth, a tea-time is also suggested. To go with a Tea Forté selection, an assortment of pastries shall treat everyone: marbled chocolate cake, fruitcake, doughnuts...
After going to an exhibition, for a business lunch, a romantic dinner or among friends, through all these accessible dishes, everybody can find happiness at the MiniPalais, for each and every occasion, at any time of the day !
Here, we come to relax, have fun, and enjoy the food.
We simply come to taste the Parisian way of life.
